Fall gaming season is here, and while some of the biggest releases will naturally grab most of the attention, there are plenty of smaller games worth keeping on your radar. The next few months are bringing everything from cozy photography adventures to strange puzzle-platformers, detective mysteries, chaotic racing games, and action-packed roguelikes. It’s one of those seasons where there’s a little something for almost every type of player. If you’re ready to add a few more games to an already-growing backlog, here are 10 upcoming indie games we’re watching this fall.
Wanderburg

Release Date: September 8, 2026 | PC
What if your castle wasn’t something you defended, but something you drove straight into battle?
That’s essentially the idea behind Wanderburg, a medieval action roguelike where your fortress is on wheels. You’ll travel across the world, destroy enemy strongholds, consume villages, and gradually build your roaming castle into something much more powerful.
A big part of the fun looks like it will come from customizing your fortress. As you progress, you can expand your arsenal with different weapons and siege machinery, allowing your castle to grow alongside you.
It’s a strange combination of medieval warfare, roguelike progression, and vehicular combat, which is exactly why it caught our attention.
Wanderburg launches in Early Access on PC on September 8.
Curve Fever

Release Date: September 22, 2026 | PC
Sometimes you don’t need a complicated premise to create complete chaos.
Curve Fever is an online multiplayer arena game where your ship is constantly moving and leaving a deadly trail behind it. The goal sounds simple: don’t crash.
Of course, once several other players are filling the arena with their own trails, things get considerably more difficult.
Matches combine quick reflexes with strategy as you dodge other players, squeeze through increasingly small openings, and use different powers to interfere with your opponents. Up to 10 players can compete, which should make for some wonderfully messy matches.
Steam currently lists its planned release for September 22.
TOEM 2

Release Date: September 29, 2026 | PC
The original TOEM turned photography into a charming adventure, and its sequel is almost here.
TOEM 2 puts you back behind the camera for another relaxing journey built around exploring, photographing unusual events, helping characters, and discovering the small details hidden throughout its world.
This time, there’s more movement involved too. You’ll be able to run, jump, and climb through new environments while searching for hidden paths and viewpoints. The camera is also getting new attachments that can be used to solve problems.
One thing we particularly like is that you don’t need to have played the original. The developers say the sequel was designed to welcome both returning players and newcomers.
If your fall gaming plans need something cozy between all those action and horror releases, this one deserves a look.
Steam currently lists TOEM 2 for September 29.
Death at Fleming Manor

Release Date: November 3, 2026 | PC
Here’s one for the players who keep a notebook nearby when playing mystery games.
Death at Fleming Manor takes place in England in 1959, where a series of unexplained deaths has occurred at a country estate. Your job isn’t simply to find clues. You’re responsible for determining what actually happened and completing the corresponding forensic documents.
You’ll examine scenes, study bodies, question people, and review evidence before determining the victim’s identity, cause of death, and whether the death was an accident, suicide, or murder.
The hand-drawn detective-comic presentation gives the game an immediately recognizable style, while the investigation system sounds particularly promising for fans of games like Return of the Obra Dinn and The Case of the Golden Idol.
Steam lists the release for November 3.

PITH

Release Date: November 6, 2026 | PC
PITH might be one of the stranger upcoming indie games on this list, and we mean that as a compliment.
It’s described as a “metroidbrainia,” combining puzzle-platforming with interconnected worlds and plenty of secrets.
Rather than simply giving you stronger weapons or traditional upgrades, PITH appears focused on giving you tools and asking you to figure out how they interact with the world around you. You’ll jump between small interconnected areas, explore unusual environments, and gradually piece together how everything works.
It’s the type of game that looks particularly appealing if you enjoy that moment when a puzzle finally clicks and suddenly an area you’ve walked past several times makes complete sense.
PITH is currently scheduled for November 6.
Lost Media Agency

Release Date: November 6, 2026 | PC
Fall wouldn’t feel complete without some horror.
Lost Media Agency combines found-footage horror with detective work. Instead of simply trying to survive a monster, you’re investigating footage connected to a kaiju incident and trying to reconstruct what happened.
The key is putting the pieces into chronological order.
Its mix of 1990s aesthetics, FMV, mystery, conspiracy, and psychological horror gives it a very different feel from the typical chase-heavy horror game.
For players who enjoy horror that makes them investigate instead of simply run away, this could be an interesting one to watch.
Steam currently lists November 6 as its planned release date.
Rallied

Release Date: November 6, 2026 | PC
Thirty-two players.
A racing map designed for four.
You can probably see where this is going.
Rallied is a physics-based racing game built around complete chaos. Instead of clean racing lines and carefully timed overtakes, you’ll be ramming into other cars, experimenting with perks, customizing your vehicle, and somehow trying to survive a track packed with far more drivers than it was designed to handle.
It also supports online multiplayer and includes a level editor through Steam Workshop, which could give players plenty to mess around with after launch.
If you’re looking for a serious racing simulator, this probably isn’t it. If you want to laugh while 31 other cars pile into the same corner, Rallied makes a much stronger case.
It’s scheduled for November 6 on Steam.
Feedmaster

Release Date: November 6, 2026 | PC
Feedmaster has a premise that’s a little too familiar in 2026: you’re in charge of an algorithm.
Your job is to study users’ interests and emotions, then turn creators, advertisements, and ideas into posts that will keep people clicking. As the goals increase, you’ll need to combine different users, traits, and tags to keep the recommendation machine moving.
There’s just one little problem: what your algorithm does to the users and the world around them might eventually become something worth worrying about.
The combination of strategy, cards, dark humor, and a dystopian take on recommendation algorithms makes this one of the more unusual games on our list.
Feedmaster is currently scheduled for November 6.
Project: Autumn

Release Date: November 10, 2026 | PC
Not everything this fall has to be dark or stressful.
Project: Autumn follows two robots, Oakley and Elmer, who are supposed to be searching an archipelago for a mysterious creature. There’s just one problem: they keep getting distracted.
And apparently that’s the point.
You’ll run, climb, crawl, collect items, meet the people living across the islands, and explore at your own pace. Underneath the adventure is a theme about our obsession with efficiency and learning that sometimes it’s okay to slow down and enjoy where you are.
That sounds particularly fitting for a cozy fall game.
Steam currently lists Project: Autumn for November 10.
Where the Seeds Fall

Release Window: November 2026 | PC
We’ll end with a game that doesn’t have an exact November day yet, so we’re not going to make one up.
Where the Seeds Fall is a short action-adventure set in a world where a mysterious Blight has forced humanity to live among the branches of the enormous World Tree.
You’ll navigate crumbling platforms, deal with powerful winds, and use unusual flowers to survive falls that would otherwise be deadly. The story follows a soldier escorting a child toward the surface while gradually uncovering the truth behind both the child and the world.
Interestingly, the developers are aiming for a tightly focused experience rather than a huge adventure. Steam describes the main story as roughly three hours, with harder maps and time trials available afterward.
Steam currently gives Where the Seeds Fall a November 2026 release window rather than a specific date.
Which Upcoming Indie Games Are on Your Wishlist?
Fall 2026 isn’t short on games to play, and these are only a few of the upcoming indie games worth keeping on your radar as we head into the final months of the year.
What’s exciting about this particular group is how different they are from one another. You can spend one night photographing a peaceful world in TOEM 2 and another trying to solve suspicious deaths in Death at Fleming Manor. Or maybe you’ll decide you’d rather drive a castle on wheels in Wanderburg. We’re not judging.
And that’s part of the fun of following upcoming indie games. You never quite know which smaller release is going to become the game you can’t stop talking about.
Which fall release are you most excited to play? Let us know in the comments.
