If you don’t have the time or don’t want to bother setting up emulators to play old video games, this post is for you!
Emulators have come a long way in their (relative) ease of setup and use, but they still have a number of quirks that need to be tweaked in their configuration in order for them to hum properly. There is also the issue of storing and polluting the local workstation with a bunch of different emulators.
Having installed several emulators on our Windows PC, we know how much time it can take to set them up properly. After setting them up, you realize how much valuable storage space they have taken up. The solution would be to keep a bunch of emulators on our PC, but move all game backups to an external drive – again, more time spent setting up than playing our favorite retro games! So what is the answer?
Let me introduce you to Hyper Base Mix 5TB external hard drive that keeps working, perfectly configured emulators and fully loaded with pre-installed games – almost the entire 5TB drive is full! So, if you have a Windows PC, it’s as simple as plugging the drive into a free USB port and then running your desired emulator.
Pre-configured emulators include LaunchBox, RetroBat, and Playnite, arguably the best emulators/interfaces currently available. What, without RetroArch? No, you don’t need to, because RetroBat (and LaunchBox) do the job perfectly. I wish we had bought this drive sooner as it would have saved us a lot of time (and headache).
