Co-development giant Virtuos has opened a brand new studio in Prague, Czech Republic.
The office has been imaginatively named Virtuos Labs – Prague and will focus on networking, user interface, mobile devices and optimization. The company is headed by CEO Ian Herodes, a 20-year industry veteran. During his career, he has worked at Disney Interactive Studios, Bohemia Interactive, Keen Software and Grip Digital. Herodes is joined by studio CTO Otakar Nieder, a fellow Bohemia Interactive veteran.
By the end of the year, Virtuos Labs Prague plans to hire 20 people.
This is the fourth Virtuos Labs studio, which the company has created after the creation of such outposts in Lyon, Montpellier and Warsaw.
Jan said: “The Czech Republic is a global hub for game development and Prague is at the heart of its growth. This is supported by a rapidly growing talent pool, thanks to programs focused on game development at local universities. I am confident that Virtuos Labs – Prague can benefit from and contribute to young and capable talent and provide excellent technical services to our valued customers.”
