Analogue has unveiled a new limited edition Analogue Pocket, a stellar retro pocket that plays on Game Boy cartridges. It’s exactly the same as the regular version, except for one key difference: it glows in the dark. The Analogue Pocket Glow encases the portable gaming device in a custom-made shell made of glow-in-the-dark plastic, and when it absorbs enough light — be it from a light bulb, sunlight, or even black light — it can emit a ghostly glow that lasts until eight o’clock. It’s great when you’re worried you won’t be able to find it during your blackout, and maybe creepy when it’s next to your head while you’re trying to fall asleep.
If the Analogue Pocket Glow will cost you $250 pre-orders open September 1st at 8am PT / 11am ET on the Analogue website, and shipping will begin on September 5th. The company says that this model will be available in limited quantities, and judging by the popularity of Analogue’s other game consoles when they go on sale, you can expect it to sell out very quickly.
