Polish game firm Bloober Team is collaborating with entertainment company Skybound on an as yet undisclosed project.
In a note to investors, the company said that this game, codenamed R, should be released in 2024. Given Bloober Team’s focus on the horror genre, it’s possible that the studio is working on a Walking Dead game.
The developer is currently working on a remake of the cult horror game Silent Hill 2.
“This project is the next step in the second party strategy, in which we collaborate with external partners who represent our know-how in the horror genre,” said Bloober Team President Piotr Babiona.
“These are not names that are intended to give us only financial returns, but are further steps in achieving our strategy until the end of 2027.
“We’ve known our friends at Skybound for a long time, and I’m sure it will be a successful collaboration.”
Skybound licensed its IP a long time ago. Its crown jewel, The Walking Dead, has been turned into a video game numerous times, albeit with varying degrees of success; there have been highs, such as the company’s partnership with Telltale Games, and lows, such as the failed project with Starbreeze.
