Joint development company Rocket Science Corporation has opened a workshop in Cardiff, Wales.
This is reported by the BBC, which reports that this outpost will become the company’s European headquarters. Rocket Science Welsh joins the firm’s other studios in New York, Austin and Monterrey.
The company has worked with Epic Games, Nintendo and Activision Blizzard.
“We’re coming to work on the biggest games in the world and bringing the expertise of our US teams to Cardiff,” said Rocket Science co-founder Thomas Daniel.
“It will create a skill set and experience I’m not sure Wales have had to date.
“I was like any other kid growing up in Wales, playing on my Amiga or Super Nintendo, but I didn’t know anyone who worked in games in Wales.
“Playing for Manchester United seemed more attainable than success in the gaming industry.
“I had to move to the south east of England because that was where most of the jobs were at the time and then to America.”
