In The Indigo Disk, you can find a special item that allows you to create some rather attractive goodies using otherwise unattractive crafting materials. Here’s our guide on how to unlock the item printer in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – Unlocking the item printer in The Indigo Disk
In The Indigo Disk, the second half of the DLC pack for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can access and use Printer point. By the time you finally get around to doing this, you’ll likely have accumulated quite a few resources that need to be used to craft items. That’s why you cannot access the item printer until you clear the game’s main campaign and The Jade Mask DLC.

The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC consists of two parts. The first one came Jade mask, who took the players on a school trip to the island. There they met two key characters: Carmine and in Kiera. Both young people are visiting Blueberry Academywhich is a parameter for Indigo disc. If you only recently purchased the DLC and didn’t like The Jade Mask, you can access the academy and find your way. however, you cannot advance far enough to access the printer until you complete the Jade Mask.

I recommend waiting until you’ve finished The Jade Mask before exploring Blueberry Academy. Carmine asks you to meet her at the academy Terrarium. When you meet her there, things happen. You meet them with additional characters. one character Drayton, invites you back to the League Clubhouse. There he explains BP system. You can spend BP to complete requests for various rewards, including an item printer.
Originally provided by Drayton 200 BP and insists that you spend 150 BP to clear the baseball club request. Once you do, you’ll learn how to change your throwing style. Then additional requests appear. One of these new requests comes from a science club. You can spend 200 BP on clearing the science club quest to unlock the item printer.
How to update the item printer on the Indigo disk
Default Item Printer is cool but expensive. You have to spend a lot of resources for relatively little return. Besides the cost of materials, you must spend BP every time you work with the item printer.

You need to run many print jobs to update the Item Printer. You can run multiple print jobs at the same time, but I don’t recommend it. I say this because a print job is only considered a one-time job, even if you print 10 items.
On the subject: How to get BP in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk
If you’re like me, unlocking the Item Printer drained your BP supply. Spending more BP for each extra job means you have to save while earning more BP. Fortunately, it’s easy to enter the terrarium and complete quests. Check out the link above for a more complete explanation. Personally, I just ran around the coastal biome, fighting monsters on cars, taking pictures and such. The game will list various quests. You can access the current list by clicking is correct on the d-pad. Generally, you can work on three of them at the same time.
When you complete additional print jobs using your materials and BP, you’ll gain access to three Item Printer upgrades:
- Use the item printer 30 times and pay 200 BP
- Use the item printer 80 times and pay 500 BP
- Use the item printer 100 times and pay 1000 BP
When you print enough jobs and get the BP you need, just talk to Reese and select “I want to do it better” to continue. Updating Item Printer completely will probably take you a long time, even if you make it a priority. I suggest you work on it more passively and find other interesting activities, like hunting for the Iron Boulder. There’s no shortage of new monsters and challenges, so it makes sense to upgrade the printer more passively.
