Friends against friends is a chaotic shooter that adds cards to the mix, creating your own decks to blow up your enemies (and maybe a few friends).
Friends against friends is an action-packed, fast-paced game with a true ‘one more round’ feel. In the game, you can choose which of the six playable characters you want to play as. These characters are whimsical looking animals, each with their own abilities. Some start running faster than others, some have better health, and some have special cards that can be added to your shooting deck.
This is a useful skill as cards are how you can fight in the arena. You get a limited deck of cards, which you can then use all at once or spread out over several different rounds. Abilities on cards only last one round, so it really depends on whether you’re winning at the time and what’s in your deck. Some of the cards have a clear arena in which they are best. When I was playing Friends against friends, there was this level of an underground train station that you had to jump on to easily get from one side to the other. Using the No Jump card on my enemies while they were on the lanes made it so that they couldn’t leave the lanes. This caused them to crash the train and lose.
There are many cards that you can mix and match before the round, creating your own deck. Some are weapons, some are disposable items, and some are abilities for yourself or punishment for your enemy. It’s a great balance of playing cards at the right time and making sure you save cards for later, as well as paying attention to what’s going on in the arena around you as your enemy may be closing in on you!
so much going on Friends against friends gets chaotic, and not just because you can destroy the entire playing field! There is a balance between introducing new cards into your hand and not spending too much time looking at the cards themselves. Visually, the design of the game is also very well polished and attractive! Friends against friends will definitely be fun for those who like a lot of shooting chaos.
Friends vs. Friends will be available tomorrow on Steam.
