The final season of Destiny 2 was released, concluding the Lightfall saga ahead of the release of the delayed expansion The Final Shape. Unlike most of the other seasons released over the years, Season of the Wish will be the longest to date as it will end in June 2024. Season of the Wish will focus on one of Destiny 2’s strangest narrative threads, the powerful wish-granting dragons called Ahamkara, long thought to be extinct before the 2018 Forsaken expansion revealed that one was still alive and hidden in City of Mary.
Season 23 will also bring a number of technical changes, as well as more exotic armor and exotic weapons, as well as changes to abilities. As usual, you’ll be able to complete the season pass and get great rewards, such as a new version of the Dragon’s Breath exotic rocket launcher.
Guides to the season of wishes
What secrets will have to be revealed in season 23? Deck building was a big focus last season, and we expect Bungie to have some new ideas to experiment with this season. We’ll be updating this section with a list of guides, so check back often as we explore the secrets of Season of the Wish.
Season of Desire storyline

Be careful what you wish for because the reality warping dragon can twist your words and give you more than you bargained for. This is a general warning when dealing with Ahamkara, paracausal beings who have a habit of picking up the desires of individuals and monkey-paw their desires into distorted forms of wish-fulfillment. The return of the Ahamkara in Destiny 2 concludes a storyline that has been going on for years and was hinted at in the Forsaken’s Last Wish raid.
After discovering the hidden Ahamkara egg in Imabaru’s engine, players will use it as a trade coin with Riven, the wish dragon, to create a path to the Traveler and finally confront the Witness. And who knows? It might even explain how Cayde-6 is making his eventual comeback after being dead for the past few years.
The season of wishes is a seasonal activity
A new class this season is Riven’s Lair, a new arena full of Hives and Contempts bent on hindering your progress. A little exotic firepower should help solve this little obstacle.

Season of the Wish Exotic Weapon: Dragon’s Breath
![Dragon's breath](https://www.gamespot.com/a/uploads/original/1601/16018044/4222170-dragon-breath.jpg)
The classic rocket launcher from the original Destiny 2, the Dragon’s Breath is back, and it does a lot more than just make a big boom. This version of the weapon now has a design that fits well with the Solar 2.0 subclass and Season 23 Artifact. It now has a fuel meter that passively increases the longer you go without firing it, and at a maximum of five stacks the fuel tank will empty when fired. This transfers all of the fuel to the missile and these explosive warheads can embed themselves in affected targets, dealing Scorch damage while incendiary fuel flows around them, applying even more stacks of Scorch to any enemies caught in these puddles.
The more fuel you use, the longer this effect will last before detonation occurs. To top it all off, there’s an internal perk for Dragon’s Breath, a high octane that instantly refuels a rocket launcher with two stacks of fuel if there’s an ignition nearby. A fully fueled Dragon’s Breath automatically recharges, and its Exotic Catalyst causes Firesprites to appear after eliminating enemies.
