Canadian developer Behavior Interactive buys Netherlands-based Codeglue.
No figures were given on the deal, which sees the studio become Behavior Rotterdam. Codeglue was founded back in 2000 and has worked on many games such as Shadowrun Trilogy, Human Fall Flat and Descenders.
This is the third European expansion that Behavior has made in 2023, following SockMonkey Studios – now Behavior UK North – and Behavior UK South, made up of veterans Antimatter Games.
“We are delighted to build on our strategic expansion into the UK by establishing our first presence in continental Europe,” Behavior co-founder and CEO Remy Racine (in the photo) said.
“The addition of Codeglue’s experienced team further enhances the capabilities of our world-class services department. We’re always looking for opportunities that fit Behaviour’s needs and culture, and Codeglue was a clear match on both of those fronts.”
Peter de Jong, co-founder of Codeglue and now CEO of Behavior Rotterdam, added: “Codeglue and Behavior have a lot in common because they have experienced many evolutions in the gaming industry over the past 23 years. During this time we have always admired Behaviour’s work and culture. We are very excited to be a new page in their success story.”
