Adobe recently upset its customers by changing its terms of service, and trying to explain things doesn’t seem to have helped much. Just as when Unity self-destructed on pay-per-hours, its competitors were quick to take advantage of the discord. It looks like the same thing will happen with Adobe, as Adobe competitor Canva/Serif announced its suite of Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, and Affinity Publisher apps for 50% off during a flash sale.
As you can see from the announcement tweet, the reason for the quick sale is pretty clear:
It’s not clear how long the flash sale will last, but it’s a great opportunity to pick up a great alternative to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator at a very low price. Best of all, Serif products are old-school buy-once products with no subscription. One thing to be aware of though: Serif/Affinity recently acquired Canva, although they have since made the following promise:
